Bilha and Moshe - Throughout the Years
Falling in Love
Bilha Bauman was 26 and Moshe Castel 39 when they met in 1948. He fell in love when he saw her singing at a party in Safed.
Wed
In 1949, Bilha and Moshe got married in Tel Aviv, in the presence of their parents.
Creating Ketuba
In 1979 Moshe gave his work "Ketuba" to Bilha for her birthday.
Choosing Ma'ale Adumim
On a drive to the Dead Sea, the Ma'ale Adumim landscape draws Moshe's attention. Moshe tells Bilha he wants his museum to be located there.
Mission Set
In 1991, when Bilha was 69 years old, Moshe Castel passed away. As a widow, Bilha's mission was to to build a museum that would serve as a permanent monument to her husband's creativity.
The Museum
The Moshe Castel Museum of Art in Ma’ale Adumim opened its doors in 2010.
90th Birthday
Shimon Peres wished Bilha well on her 90th birthday.
